Here are the submissions for our very first base doll competition. Even though they weren't chosen for the MKC, most artists would still love to collaborate on them. Please e-mail the artists and let them know if you would like to collaborate with them, I'm sure they'd love to hear from you.
Fred was born on the planet Frontier on the far edge of our galaxy. Life on Frontier is tough with roaming bands of outlaws mostly in control of the planet. Fred's mother died at the hands of such ruffians when Fred was 8; Fred's father was killed in a shoot-out 6 years later. Fred eventually tracked down her mother's murderers and killed them one by one. Fred has managed to survive on Frontier due to her talents as a gunslinger and has been recruited off-planet several times as an assassin.
I racked my brain thinking of a base doll. I thought of a futuristic gunfighter, but how would you know if you saw one without his/her guns? In the end, I decided to go with Spike from Cowboy Bebop. I sure hope he falls within the theme.
This doll was created by tea for lord don's MKC:monthly KiSS contest. It is a doll of grace kelly resurrected as a cyborg for the summer blockbuster hit "high
Space is a dark, cold place. People look towards the local space sheriff for justice and protection. Sid is one such space sheriff. Sid just showed up one day following a band of space mutants. After he dispatched those that wouldn't surrender peacefully, the local planetoid convinced him to stay. The local saloon and its girls certainly helped Sid make up his mind. He was there to stay. Sid protects the poor and the persecuted. With his six shooters and glare of ice, his mere presence guarantee peace and prosperity in the small system.
Sid is a quiet man with a lot to say. Through his telepathic speech, his words have even been heard in the films of insignificant planets far from civiilized space.
